Tarot-Integrated Therapy · Bethlehem PA & Virtual
The cards don't tell your future.
They reveal what you already know.
Tarot as a clinical tool — not fortune telling. A way of accessing your unconscious mind, mapping your inner landscape, and excavating truth that straightforward talk therapy sometimes can't reach.
This isn't a tarot reading.
This is therapy.
When tarot is used in a clinical setting, it's not about prediction. It's about perception. The cards act as a projective surface — a way of externalizing what's happening internally so we can look at it together without the defenses that come up in direct conversation.
Think of it like a mirror that catches the light differently. You're not seeing something new — you're seeing what was already there, from an angle that finally makes it visible.
What tarot in therapy
actually is.
What this actually
looks like in session.
Tarot can be woven into our work in several ways depending on what you're processing and what you're open to.
Single Card Pulls
Drawing one card to open a session — a way of setting an intention or surfacing what the unconscious wants to look at today. Simple. Powerful. Never forced.
The Youniversal Tarot Spread
A proprietary clinical spread developed specifically for depth therapeutic work. Each position corresponds to a psychological dimension of your current experience. We go one card at a time, at your pace.
Shadow Work Integration
Certain archetypes in the tarot are particularly powerful for shadow work. We use them as entry points into the parts of yourself you've been keeping in the dark.
Narrative & Projective Work
You tell me what you see in the card. What it feels like. What story it's telling. The interpretation is always yours — the cards just hold the space for something to emerge.
Virtual Sessions
For telehealth clients, you're welcome to use your own deck. Or I share mine via projector so you can see the cards clearly on your screen and choose from them directly — no deck of your own required.
Always Your Choice
You never have to use tarot. Some clients love it from session one. Others take months to feel ready. Others never use it at all — and that is completely fine. This is your therapy.
The Youniversal
Tarot Spread.
Built for healing.
Most tarot spreads were designed for divination. This one was designed for therapy. Each position in the Youniversal Tarot Spread corresponds to a specific dimension of psychological experience — from the presenting wound to the emerging strength.
"We don't read your future. We read your present — the parts of it you haven't been able to see yet."
The full spread is revealed in session — not because it's a secret, but because the experience of drawing the cards in context is part of what makes it work. We go slowly. One card at a time.
Tarot-integrated therapy
tends to resonate with folx who —
Already use tarot personally
You pull cards for yourself but want a clinically trained guide to help you go deeper with what comes up.
Have hit a wall in traditional therapy
Talk therapy has helped but feels like it's plateaued. You're looking for a different entry point into the same material.
Find it hard to access feelings directly
Talking about yourself head-on feels blocked. The symbolic language of the cards creates a safer distance to approach difficult things.
Are doing shadow work
The Major Arcana especially maps beautifully onto shadow integration. If you're in depth work, the cards can be a powerful accelerant.
Are spiritually curious but cautious
You're drawn to the idea but skeptical. That's actually an ideal place to start — we approach it clinically, not mystically, and let your experience speak for itself.
Want your whole self in the room
You're tired of leaving your spiritual practice at the door. You want a therapist who sees it as a resource, not a liability.
You choose.
Or I do.
In session, you'll choose from a selection of decks — imagery that speaks to you, not imagery I've assigned. If you have your own deck you love, bring it. For virtual sessions, you're welcome to use your own while I work with mine.
I bring a curated selection of decks to session — chosen for their psychological richness and visual diversity. You pick what speaks to you.
Things folx ask
before trying this.
▶ Do I have to believe in tarot for this to work?
No. The clinical use of tarot doesn't require belief in anything supernatural. It works as a projective tool — similar to how a Rorschach inkblot or a sand tray works. What you bring to the image is what matters, not what the image "means" in any fixed sense.
Skeptics often get the most out of it because they approach the cards without preloaded meanings, which means what comes up is genuinely theirs.
▶ Will this be covered by my insurance?
Yes — because this is therapy. The tarot is a clinical tool within a licensed therapy session, not a separate service. Insurance billing is the same as any other session. What we do in the room is between us.
If you have concerns about documentation, we can talk through how session notes are written. Your privacy is always protected.
▶ Do I need to know anything about tarot first?
Not at all. Zero tarot knowledge required. In fact, coming in without predetermined meanings for the cards can be an advantage — you respond to the imagery directly rather than through a filter of what you've been told a card "means."
I bring the clinical framework. You bring yourself. That's all that's needed.
▶ What if I'm not comfortable with tarot?
Then we don't use it. Full stop. Tarot is never a requirement and never something I'll push. There are plenty of other ways we can do depth work together — dream analysis, visualization, somatic approaches, and traditional talk therapy among them.
Your comfort determines what tools we use, always.
▶ Is this the same as a tarot reading?
It's completely different. In a tarot reading, the reader interprets the cards for you. In therapy, you interpret the cards — I ask questions and hold the clinical container while you do the work. I'm not telling you what the cards mean. I'm asking what they bring up for you.
The goal isn't insight about your future. It's insight about your present.
Curious what the cards
might reveal about you?
You don't have to know anything about tarot to start. You just have to be willing to look. Book a session and we'll find out what comes up together.
